Buddies...

As many of you know, baby Michael is one of many 2009 babies. I was so fortunate to be pregnant along with some of my dearest friends. So now the friendship has extended from mommies to babies! Right now (while we still have control) we are sure they are all pals! Here is baby Michael with Elyas. Clearly they are buddies for life. Elyas' mama, Pam, is my sister at heart. We are so pleased to have sons who will be growing up together! (By the way, Elyas is 3 months younger than Michael! Yes, our munchkin is....a munchkin....)

Double Fisted

Guess what? My son likes to eat!!

St. Patty's

Baby Michael's Tia Kim likes to send him adorable clothes! She has him outfitted for every holiday. Here he is sporting his St. Patrick's day T-shirt and green socks! (or as we call them "sockitoome's" Get it?) I have been waiting for a chance to use his green socks, and finally got a chance to sport them! Thank you papa for making this day extra exciting with a shoulder ride!

And to add the adorable pics, a white trash pic of my son holding a beer! Yes, that's right...we did it...we took a picture of our son holding a beer. I always said I would NEVER take these kinds of pics, but in light of the Irish holiday, we decided to display our good taste in brew. Come on people, it's not like he's holding a Coors!! It's Stone Porter...some of you might appreciate the difference....;)

Our little Cherub!!!

I'm so in love with my talented husband and my munchkin! In February, Michael captured some pics of baby Michael at his office while we waited for our friends Ali and Isla to come by (see adorable pics below). Baby Michael was very cooperative and had a blast posing for his papa! He is getting so big!

His First Valentine....

Well, I always thought I would be his first valentine. I assumed it would be years before I had competition....but then entered Isla. She was like a dream. When she showed up with a bow in her hair and a paper heart, I knew I was toast! And so the saga begins...this year it's paper hearts....next year it might be cupcakes...and we all know eventually it will be candy!! My little valentine....taken!!

Isla: "Hey! What are you doing to my heart?"
Michael: "yummy"

Isla: "Mom? What is he doing to my heart?"
Michael: "yummy"

Isla: (sigh)"ruined...."
Michael: "Ooh, that was good"

Isla: "What a boy!"
Michael: "What did I do?"

Sophia turns 4!!

Here is Sophia a few months before our wedding ('07)...

And here she is now!! Hooray Birthday Girl!!!!

And here is Ryan having fun with his mama!

Recently, we celebrated the fourth birthday of our dear little friend Sophia. As many of you might recall, she was the flower girl in our wedding (20 months at the time). Well, now she's all growsed up! Here little brother Ryan (in mommy's belly at our wedding) is also a big boy now! And guess what? Mommy Karen is expecting again! We were delighted to attend her 4th birthday party at Pump It Up! Baby Michael is still too small for the slides and bounce houses, but he had a great time watching....and so did we!!

Baby Michael can't wait to play here! He had a blast watching the kids bounce and slide!

Welcome St. Andrews!!

Baby Michael poses proudly with his papa. His first day of school at St. Andrews was a hit!

Baby Michael is showing off his table sitting skills! Now all he needs is a lap top and a cup of coffee.

Mama is admiring her little big man!!

In January, Baby Michael had his first day of school at St. Andrew's. We were so lucky to get referred by our wonderful friends the Aguilars. Now Baby Michael, and best buddy Baby Elyas, attend St. Andrew's 3 days a week. Here he is on his first day. Michael and I took him and picked him up together. The staff said he did amazingly well and was cheerful all day long. He clearly didn't understand the long term plan! But I know he did well due to their transition policy (we had visited several times over the previous weeks and did a trial hour the Friday before) and because of the great staff that shower him with love! We feel blessed to have found such a warm loving place for the love of our lives!

First Foods

We are moving on!! Yes folks, it's time for solids (or was when this picture was taken 2 months ago) We added rice cereal first and then quickly made our way through multiple fruits and veggies. I am, of course, being a completely overprotective mother and pureeing/straining foods to the point of nausea. I can't help it. I know better! But every time he gags or coughs, I'm ready to yank him out of his chair (he has a highchair now, but is in a travel chair for these pics) and stick my finger down his throat! I do, however, HATE having to wait 3 days between new foods!! I know the whole allergy thing is important, particularly for us since my picture is in the dictionary next to food allergies, but it sucks having to wait! luckily he has not shown any sign of having food allergies yet!! YEA!! Anyway, here he is during his first exposure to solids!

Santy Claus

What can I possibly say about this picture!? It's edible....

Romero Christmas

Baby Michael was days from sitting independently, so his big cousin Jonathan (by three months) was gracious enough to pose next to Michael in a Boppy!

Here Baby Michael is wondering why I'm making silly cheesy faces at him.

Papa and his baby!! What an adorable pair!

So the Romero's had an early Christmas since we were spending Dec. 25th in Visalia. We all gathered at Nana Deanne's and Grandpa Michael's for some holiday fun. Baby Michael got to open his first Christmas gifts and take his first Romero Christmas pics. We had a great time and are so thankful for all the love showered on our little family!

Christmas Cards

Pay no attention to the stranded baby on the couch! Just checking his reflexes!!...

So we totally lagged on doing Christmas photos. You know, the baby, us with the baby, etc. So at the last minute Michael and I threw together a photo session in our living room. I had already had baby Michael make his first Christmas card (reindeer out of his feet...or as we call them "his patitas"), all that was needed was an adorable picture of our little love. He was very cooperative, even with a few tumbles. Many of you have seen this already....since I'm posting this in March, but in the spirit of keeping this blog as an archive of our little man, I will post it anyway. (Plus, I'm totally lagging on his baby book)
